The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) assists people living with disability by providing funding for supports and services. The NDIS fund what’s ‘reasonable and necessary’ to help participants achieve their goals and live full and independent lives.
If home delivered, ready-made meals are part of your NDIS plan or Home Care Package and you have the stated line item for ‘preparation and delivery of meals’ (01_022_0120_1_1) you will only need to pay a small co-payment for the raw material or ingredient costs. If you’re not sure we can help you out, or you can always talk to your Support Coordinator or Plan Manager.
Care Food Co. is now a registered NDIS provider and can currently offer fresh texture modified meals options, including fruit, vegetables and main dishes to NDIS participants who are self or plan managed.
We believe people requiring a texture modified diet should have access to fresh foods that are as close as possible to as nature intended. Our food does not include thickeners or additives, our apple is 100% apple, carrot is 100% carrot, our Beef Bolognese is made by chefs and is as good or even better as making it yourself.
The Plans
Self Managed NDSI Meal Plans
If your NDIS support is Self Managed – you pay for the total cost upfront and we will issue you with a tax invoice to make your claim to the NDIA.
Plan Managed NDIS Meal Plans
If your NDIS support is Plan Managed – you pay a small co-payment which will be applied as a discount at checkout and your plan manager will take care of the rest. We will send the invoice directly to them.
Agency Managed NDIA Meal Plans
If your NDIS support is Agency (NDIA) Managed – We are now a registered NDIS provider meaning you will pay the small co-payment which will be applied as a discount at checkout and we will then be able to claim the remaining directly from the NDIA via a service booking. This requires a quote and service agreement to be approved first.

Important Note regarding Invoicing. Care Food Co splits a client order into two parts. 30% Co-payment directed to the client for payment via Direct Debit. 70% plus delivery fee to the NDIA or NDIS plan manager. We support each invoice with the client order document for easy fact checking
